Salsabiil Charity Foundation in Somalia is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those in need and supporting the most vulnerable in society. Founded on the belief that cooperation and solidarity can make a real difference, we are committed to our mission.

Our Goals

At Salsabiil Foundation, we believe that every human being deserves to live with dignity. We work towards this through various programs and initiatives aimed at:

  • Combating poverty and hunger: Providing food, financial, clothing, and housing assistance to poor families, such as Qurbani distribution projects and Ramadan iftar meals, and empowering them through sustainable development projects.
  • Supporting education: Ensuring equal educational opportunities for all and promoting quality education for a better future.
  • Health care: Offering primary health care services to local communities and spreading preventive health awareness.
  • Relief for the afflicted: Providing urgent humanitarian assistance to those affected by natural disasters and humanitarian crises.

About the Founder

Jibril Sheikh Luqman Hussein was raised in Afgoye, where he memorized the Holy Quran and studied various Islamic texts, Arabic linguistics, grammar, and morphology. He graduated from Al-Farouq Secondary School in 2006 and furthered his studies in English, computer science, biology, and chemistry, eventually teaching these subjects in some of Afgoye’s top schools.

In 2009, he received a scholarship from the Somali state to study at the University of Aden in Yemen, where he earned a degree in horticulture from the Nasser College of Agricultural Sciences. Returning to Somalia in 2013, he resumed teaching before entering politics in 2015.

On March 3, 2015, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Justice in South-West State of Somalia. In 2017, he became Deputy Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, serving until 2018. From January 8, 2020, he worked as a senior advisor at the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs of South-West State of Somalia.

Realizing his passion for charity work, he founded the Salsabiil Charity Foundation on September 5, 2021, in Baidoa, the capital of South-West State Somalia. On February 14, 2024, he resigned from his advisory position to focus full-time on the foundation, supervising charitable and humanitarian projects.

Currently, Jibril Sheikh Luqman Hussein serves as the Director General of the Salsabiil Charity Foundation in Somalia.
